- Welcome to the BCM Menu System v2.2
-
- You should have the following two compressed files:
- - BCM1.ZIP (Main BCM program files)
- - BCM2.ZIP (BCM Editor, help files and documentation)
-
- In the following instruction press the <Enter> key after typing the
- described commands. If this is your first installation of BCM, create
- a directory on your hard drive by typing:
-
- MD C:\BCM (creates sub-directory BCM on drive C)
-
- Note: BCM will run from any directory on any hard drive.
-
- If you are updating BCM from an earlier version, you must erase all
- the BCM program files currently in your BCM directory because many of
- the earlier version files are not compatible with version 2.0.
-
- If you are installing BCM from floppy drive A:
- -Put the floppy disk containing BCM1.ZIP in drive A.
- -Use PKUNZIP to extract files from BCM1.ZIP into C:\BCM directory.
- -Put the floppy disk containing BCM2.ZIP in drive A.
- -Use PKUNZIP to extract files from BCM2.ZIP into C:\BCM directory.
-
- Note: BCM can be installed from any drive.
-
- Assuming that you installed BCM into C:\BCM, type:
- C: (changes you to drive C)
- CD \BCM (changes you to directory \BCM)
- BCM (runs the BCM Menu System)
-
- If you plan on using BCM's compression shell capabilities, make
- sure that any or all of the following programs are in the same directory
- as BCM:
- -PKZIP.EXE..........PKZip file compression utility
- -PKUNZIP.EXE........PKZip file decompression utility
- -PKPAK.EXE..........PKPak file compression utility
- -PKUNPAK.EXE........PKPak file decompression utility
- -LHA.EXE............Lha file compression-decompression utility
- -ARJ.EXE............ARJ file compression utility
-
- The shareware version of these compression programs can be easily
- obtained either on computer bulletin boards or through Shareware
- vendors.
-
- It is helpful to put BCM's path in your AUTOEXEC.BAT path statement
- and add BCM at the end. This causes BCM to run each time you boot your
- computer. Read Building a Menu to see how to setup the BCM Main Menu.
-
- If you need help anywhere in BCM, press <F1> or consult the manual.
